Policy Influencing, Advocacy and Engagement Programme

Overview:

The programme focuses on influencing community to change practices in response to national laws and policies. This is achieved through:

1. Training communities on relevant national laws and policies
2. Conduct community sensitization meetings on relevant national laws and policies
3. Community debates/dialogues on locally relevant national laws and policies
The commonly used national laws and policies in our context include: Village Land Act No. 5/1999; Agriculture & Livestock Policy (1997); Agricultural Sector Development Strategy (ASDS I-2001-2014); Agricultural Sector Development Strategy (ASDS II-2015/17 to 2025); Agricultural Sector Development Programme (ASDP 1 – 2002 to 2016); Water Policy (2002); Water and Sanitation Act (No.12/2009).

Facilitating Policy Influencing, Advocacy and Engagement Processes to Communities, NGOs and Government Institutions on key National Policies and Acts. Some of these include the land policy/act, water policy/act, Disaster Management Act, Child protection policy/act, women and children protection policy etc.
